The staff includes professionals from various disciplines, specialized technicians and administrative staff.

IAS performs tasks related to technological development, technical assistance, analysis and testing, distribution of technical information, organization of courses and conferences and standardization, to accompany the development of the steel industry, its value chain (steel suppliers and users) and other industries. The three main areas are: the Process Assistance division, the Laboratories Division and the Institutional Services division.
